Finding the right bra size is one of the most impactful things you can do for your comfort and confidence. Studies suggest that up to 80% of women wear the wrong size — but the good news is that measuring yourself at home is simple, quick, and requires only a flexible tape measure.
Finding the right bra size is one of the most impactful things you can do for your comfort and confidence. Studies suggest that up to 80% of women wear the wrong size — but the good news is that measuring yourself at home is simple, quick, and requires only a flexible tape measure.
What You’ll Need
- A soft, flexible measuring tape
- A well-fitting, unpadded bra (or no bra)
- A mirror
Step 1: Measure Your Band Size
Wrap the tape measure firmly around your ribcage, just below your bust. The tape should be snug but not tight. Round to the nearest whole number. If it’s an odd number, round up to the next even number — this is your band size.
Step 2: Measure Your Bust
Measure around the fullest part of your bust, keeping the tape parallel to the floor. Don’t pull it too tight — you want to capture your natural shape. Round to the nearest whole number.
Step 3: Calculate Your Cup Size
Subtract your band measurement from your bust measurement. The difference determines your cup size:
- Less than 1 cm = AA
- 1–2 cm = A
- 2–3 cm = B
- 3–4 cm = C
- 4–5 cm = D
- 5–6 cm = DD / E
- 6–7 cm = F
Signs Your Bra Doesn’t Fit
- The band rides up at the back
- The underwire digs into your skin
- The straps dig in or slip off your shoulders
- The cup gapes or overflows
- You feel discomfort by midday
“A well-fitting bra is the foundation of every great outfit — and every great day.”
